Recruitment Committee
Mission Statement
A recruitment committee from the NASA Academy Alumni Association (NAAA) will plan a general and a diversity application recruitment campaign that will launch this Fall. The general campaign will involve advertising NASA Academy at conferences and having NAAA student members advertise the program at their home universities, while the diversity recruitment aspect will involve reaching out to universities that are typically not well represented in NASA Academy. We detail our campaign to visit conferences and to host discussion events at institutions near recruiters. Finally, we list the individuals who have agreed to represent the NASA Academy in the near future.

Goals
- Create a general and diversity recruitment schedule
- Create a budget for both a local and non-local recruitment campaign. A non-local campaign would involve sending NAAA members to universities typically not well-represented in NASA programs in order to recruit applicants. Recruitment committee members should coordinate raising funds for such a campaign with the Public Relations and Fundraising Committee
- Collbaorate with the Public Relations and Fundraising Committee to create NASA Academy promotional materials
- Implement a local plan, which involves members recruiting applicants at universities near their current residence.
- In the future (funding dependent), implement the non-local plan, focusing on EPSCor States
Milestones
| May 2008 | The RecruitmentCommittee was formed. Serena Eley and Kamara Brown will both chair this committee. |
| September 2008 | Chairs will create recruitment materials and make them available to recruiters |
| October - November 2008 | Annual application recruitment campaign (coming soon) |
