Executive Council Telecon Minutes
August 4, 1997

Summary of Meeting Actions

I. NAAA Welcome

Brian and Jane related the success of the NAAA Welcome videoconference held on the 31st of July at the Goddard Space Flight Center between the four existing academies (GSFC, MSFC, ARC, and DFRC).

Dr. Soffen spoke to the MSFC, ARC, and DFRC Academies. NAAA membership forms, Frequently Asked Questions, and Presentation slides were distributed to all RAs.

The other academies would like to see the poster the GSFC Academy put together as part of their group project. Brian took the action to find out which RA would serve as liason for the poster.

Brian, Jane, and Ian Ruiz will work together next summer to set up a similar conference.

II. Banquet

We are still waiting for an invoice from the National Academy of Sciences as well as donations from Launchspace.

Jane agreed to write an article for the Launchspace Magazine and then contact Leonard David with Space News. Brian agreed to get Holly RidingsÕ pictures.

A summary of the banquet will be compiled by Jane. Part or all of this summary will appear in the next Alumni Newsletter. Brian agreed to contact Ian about heading the newsletter effort. This summary will also be part of updating the current Congress web pages.

III. Weekly EC Telecons

Wednesday at 7pm was selected as the day and time for weekly EC telecons. The backup time was selected to be Tuesday at 5pm.

IV. On-Line Issues

Membership forms will be on-line by October 1. Initially the information will be entered into a Filemaker Pro database set up by Jane and will be dumped to the on-line database. From that point on, the on-line database will be the primary database and will serve as the source for the alumni email list.

1997 GSFC RAs will be added to the email list by August 18, 1997

V. Board of Advisors

Eric and Mike will develop a plan. Will update EC next Wednesday.

VI. Elections

Finding a chairman is first priority. Eric will send an email soliciting participation and leadership.

VII. Logistics

Combine EricÕs and BrianÕs logos. Modify one pager to include part of Ō97 RAsÕ excellenct description of NAAA.
