Executive Council Telecon Minutes
April 3, 1997

Participants: Eric Anderson, Mike Moreau, Brian Roberts, Jane Thorpe
Summary of Actions from Meeting
- The date of the Congress/Reunion will be announced on Monday based on
the discussion on the list during the past week,
- Volunteers are needed to chair, coordinate, direct, or just help our
with the Congress/Reunion, Space Grant Presentation follow-up, and the
NAAA Planetfest involvment.
- A budget for the remainder of the year will be sent out for comments
during the coming week.
I. Congress/Banquet
Approximately 25% of the alumni have voted on a date and place for the 5th
Anniverary Reunion. As of 5:30pm EST the votes stood as follows:

| Scenario II (DC) - July 11-13 | 12 |
| Others (July 20th, late June) | 3 |
Possibility of having week-long festivities beginning in Pasadena and
ending in DC. More discussion over the weekend.
Actions:
- Allow for more voting via the email list over the weekend. Eric will
announce the selected date on Monday.
- Will look for a volunteer to head up events.
II. Special Projects
Coordinators are needed right away for the the Information Database, the
Alumni Congress, and NAAA Planetfest Involvement.
Action:
- Look for interested indiviuals.
III. Alumni Feedback on Constitution
So far we have gotten moderate amounts of feedback. Need more but it is not
urgent.
Actions:
- When the web site comes on-line Mike will begin discussion about
specific issues that need to be resolved.
- In a few weeks, the EC will go through and "finalize" the document.
IV. Additions to the Executive Council
The Council was divided as to the appropriateness and timeliness of
appointing more members to the Executive Council since it is still in a
trial period. Discussion was tabled and members were encouraged to think
about it more. More specific questions will be put to the list concerning
this issue before the final decision is made.
V. Follow-up to Space Grant Presentation
The following "promises" were made to the National Space Grant Consortium
during our presentation:
- Academy Congress this summer to kickoff NAAA
- Recruiting Presentation to be delivered to individual Space Grants
October 1997
- Establish an internet Resource for the Consortium
- Fund an RA for the Summer of 1998
Action:
- A working group needs to be established to work on the recruiting
presentation package. Similar presentations have been done in the past. We
will need to pool those resources already in existence to create a new
presentation. Chairperson needed to be identified within the next month.
VI. Other Actions
- Brian is to approach Jim Brice with the offer to pay for Academy Handbags.

- Constititution Issues - end of week
- Budget - end of week/beginning of next week
