Aprille Joy Ericsson-Jackson (GSFC '93) is honored by the African American Awards Committee as one of four of GSFC's outstanding African Americans, 1998. Jeff E. Baltrush (GSFC '97) won the Third Donald K. "Deke" Slayton Memorial Scholarship Award from the American Astronautical Society (AAS), March 1998. Aprille Joy Ericsson-Jackson (GSFC '93) is a 1998 Special Recognition Winner for Black Engineer of the Year; award given by US Black Engineer and Information Technology Magazine, February 1998. Aprille Joy Ericsson-Jackson (GSFC '93) received the 1997 Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Award for Engineering Achievement, June 1997. Michelle Minitti (GSFC '94) received an "Outstanding Student Paper Award" as mentioned in the June 13, 2000 issue of EOS Transactions of the American Geophysical Union (AGU), for her presentation of The Effect of Impact Shock on the Water Content and H Isotopic Composition of Hornblende: Application to the SNC Meteorites. Jenn Probst (GSFC '97) received an award from AIAA for "Exemplary support, outreach, and commitment to the US Aerospace Challenge, a national aerospace, science, and education program." Chris Lewicki (GSFC '96) is the Project Manager of the Student Satellite Project at the University of Arizona, May 1997. Eric Anderson (GSFC '95) was a runner-up for the USA Today 1997 All-USA College Academic Team, February 1997. Mike Baine (GSFC '93), Elisa Quintana (GSFC '97), and Jacob Yates (GSFC '96) each received the NASA JSC Group Achievement Award for Kidsat Mission Operations on STS-76, 1996. Jacob Yates (GSFC '96) received NASA's Shuttle Small Payloads Project Award as part of the Shuttle Laser Altimeter team of the first Technology and Applications and Science payload on-board STS-85, 1997. Chris Lewicki (GSFC '96) was Chairman of the National Board of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS-USA) from 1995-1997. David Goldstein (GSFC '95) was promoted to Vice President, Business Development of AeroAstro, Inc. (a small spacecraft builder and contractor), and Business Manager, AeroAstro Communications and Power Group. David Goldstein (GSFC '95) is a Co-founder of Encounter 2001, LLC, a space participation and entertainment company, and a Co-founder (along with Eric Anderson, GSFC '95) of Cryptodynamics, Inc, an internet security technology company.
